our Anniversary

Bonefish for dinner last night. As us ::) all we started out with bang-bang  shrimp. Richard had his usual..mussels and I had a lobster tail. We split a creme broiler for dessert..yum!  Today woke up to rain but sunny now. To the gym this afternoon....later

Cold Morning

So far we are just being lazy. Brunch is over and the NT Times puzzle is well under way. The guy who is going to do outsidecleanup for us came yesterday and will start on Friday. Grass people come Thursday. I want to clean our awning before that. It's supposed to warm up nicely which will help. We had our last fire last night so now Rie can clean out the fireplace. This evening we're going out to dinner for our anniversary which is actually tomorrow. Richard came home yesterday with flowers for me. Today is Anne's birthday. Fifty-one years ago it was Easter Sunday and I was in the hospital. She was born around 3 pm. I remember it was snowing on our way to the hospital and Alaska had had a bad earthquake. Happy Birthday, Anne!....later

Sorry...

I had no connection when I got home but all is fixed now. Since back from Columbus I have been lazy. It was nice to get home to 80 degree weather, flowering trees and the beautiful green grass of Tennessee. Today, however, it is cold and rainy with flurries expected tonight. I just hop it isn't cold enough to kill all the pretty blooms. Yesterday I did laundry and took off the flannel  sheets for  lighter ones..maybe too soon. Today I had my lab work done for my yearly des. appointment and then to Kroger s. Meatball  subs for dinner.. Our 31st anniversary is on Monday and we'll go out to dinner either then or over the weekend. Time to bring in firewood for tonight's cold weather. This weekend will likely be the last fires until  fall.....later

Travel Day

I'm up, showered, dressed and mostly packed. Rain expected here today and just heard a big clap of thunder. Smoothie time....later

This is Spring??

Yesterday was very cold and blustery. While we were getting dinner, I looked out to see a snow storm. It snowed for quite a while and we got more than a dusting. This morning it is 27 here and 60 expected tomorrow. So yesterday we shopped for groceries, went to DSW and Nordstrom Rack where Maggie got 2 cute summer dresses. On to Yankee Candle and Ted's for lunch. Maggie made pizzas for dinner. Today we're going to see Paddington and tonight it will be Eva and me. Maggie and Charlie are going out to dinner. Today will be my last day here and I have had a wonderful time and will miss them all a lot, but I also miss my honey, my dog and my home. Flying home mid-day....later

Here and There Today

Maggie wants to  go  to DSW and Giant Eagle..pizza for dinner so  need to pick.  Up dough  there. We may also see Paddington. I just finished my smoothie  made on the Ninja...delicious! Went to lunch at the Winking Lizard yesterday  and they invited  their  neighbor and son to join us. Eva loves Mate and was happy about that. When we came home  We bundled  Up  and sat outside by the fire and talked. It was chilly but we were toasty.  Very cold this morning...later

Muuch Colder Today

Yesterday started the weekend with mimosas and black blue coffee cake. After breakfast Charlie built a fire in the o ut door fireplace. We went out to enjoy the fire and the warm sunshine. We soon shed our jackets and it was egg-dying time see Facebook for pics of that.  Charlie went out and got us subs for lunch and then back outside. While we were in for lunch we heard a big boom. It turned out to be a house explosion in Upper Arlington not far from here. Maggie's neighbor went over there and said it was unbelievable.no one was killed and just minor injuries. Muir leaves today..not sure what we'll  do. My back is giving me fits  so I won't be doing much...later

Fun Day

Plans for today are..dying eggs among other activities. Yesterday Maggie and I made a blueberry coffee cake for breakfast. Haven't had any yet but will soon. Warm and sunny here today. I'm hoping my back is better than it was yesterday and so far it is. Eva dreamed of eggs last night and said there was a goose on the roof. She is so dern cute...!!!....later

Raining

Wet in Columbus, but at least it's not snow. We're heading off to Eva's swimming lesson soon and then back here for a cooking/baking day. Muir will be coming up after school. It's the first day of spring and I am SO ready for warm, sunshiny days!!....later

Thursday plans

I'm up and showered and I slept great and for 8 hours..unusual for me. Eva has school this morning and Anne and kids coming up around 11. Yesterday was great fun with Eva! After dinner she had her bath and wanted me to put my feet in with her. After that we watched Sleeping Beauty until bedtime and then I crawled in bed beside her and read "The Day the Crayons Quit" which was supposed to be all but talked me into one more so she chose a long one, of course...Mercy Watson, her favorite pig. Coffee time.....later

Columbus,Yeah!!

Everything was on time, maybe even a bit early. Maggie and Eva were waiting and Eva ran to me when she spied me!  We came home and dropped off my things and went to lunch at Rusty Bucket, Yummy. Came home and played with Eva and read her several books. She is now down for a nap. She is a precious love!....later

I'm Back!

Sorry for not blogging. I know how interesting and informative my blogs are and how much they enhance your day!  My Kindle was not working or at least intermittent power. The tech I talked to last thought it was the charger and that seems to be it. The charger arrived yesterday and very shortly after plugging in I was back. Busy day today. Laundry in progress and I need to go out in a bit to pick up a few things. I have packing to do later. My plane to Columbus leaves tomorrow I w at 7 a.m. I'll post from there....later

Haircut and Errands

Heading out soon. Going to be 70 here this afternoon!  I love it. Rained yesterday, but still warm. Baxter is happy to have door to the deck open where he can come and go. I'm anxious to have outside work done. It will have to wait until I get back from Columbus. I have a guy coming then. Time for me to scoot...later

Rainy with Fog

Salvation Army showed up on time  and now we can focus on getting the basement in order. After SA left, I headed to the stores. First to Lowe's for bordered and then Pet Smart Ross and Kroger s. I'm in a funk about dinner. I j u st can't  come up with ideas for  easy, good meals.My friend,Linda had hip replacement surgery on Monday. She was up and walking 3 hours after surgery and came home yesterday. I'm making dinner for her and Vic  on Friday. Coffee time...later

Kindle Going

My Kindle is on and off..so frustrating. Yesterday I was reading while on the treadmill when it died. I finished my workout watching tv. It is on its last leg and I'll probably order a new one today. In other news Salvation Army is coming today and we can finally get all of the bags and other donation things out of the basement and then we'll get that cleaned up. Pork stir fry tonight...later

Kindle Issues

My Kindle is acting strangely. Yesterday it shut down and It wasn't coming back. I called Amazon and we tried several things but they finally said it was dead and I was ready to get a new one. This morning I got up and decided to see if anything had happened. It came on right away and so far is fine. We'll see what the rest of the day brings. Beautiful spring weather here today. I'll be cutting back my rose bush and doing a bit of yard work...later

Sill Just Rain

Sleet and snow coming. I'm hoping Am Vets make it here before it gets bad. They were supposed to come 2 weeks ago but weather intervened and then set up for last Thursday and again weather delayed. We rescheduled for today. We'll see. We hauled all of the many bags of clothes and other miscellaneous items to the basement yesterday. Speaking of yesterday..high temp of 72! Today temps are dropping with lows expected in 20s. I'm going to make a meatloaf today to freeze for Richard for when I'm at Maggie's. I'll make him a shepherd's pie also at some time before I go. Yesterday I made a soup that was in Cooking Light. It was quite tasty. It's just now getting light and still raining....later

Damn!!

I was at the end of today's post when the screen went black and I lost it all! So far things are quiet here. Laundry nearly finished and garage door guy will be here soon. I need to call some tree guys to come and give us an estimate on cleanup. Lots to get done this month!  Heavy rain expected in next few days with wintry mix possible..hoping that doesn't happen....later

Rainy Day

Rainy morning here and so happy to have the snow washed away. I'll drop Richard off at his appointment and then go to Wal-Mart to grocery shop and to Kroger s to get gas. We'll go to the gym this afternoon. The shepherds pie was especially delicious and Richard asked me to make some for him to have when I'm at Maggie's. I'll also make him a meat loaf and he'll get a rotisserie chicken. Time to have a bit of breakfast....later

Sunday Plans

Brunch is over and the NY Times crossword puzzle is almost finished. Just drinking the last of my mimosa. Richard already cleaned up the kitchen and I'm making shepherds pie for dinner. Tonight is the finale of Downton Abbey..bummed about that. Ill for it to watch tomorrow since it is opposite The Good Wife. Richard has his Appointment tomorrow morning that had to be rescheduled twice due to this crazy weather. We finally got out yesterday. We had lunch at Red Robin and then shopped at Publix.....later
