Rainy Thursday

Spectrum coming this morning to deal with our phone problems and I'll be heading to the store on this rainy morning. Rain should continue on and off through Saturday. We're getting the tail end of Harvey. Looking forward to the start of college football! A lot of tough first games. Tennessee plays Georgia Tech on Monday in the new Georgia dome, Va Tech plays W Va. Hoping for our teams to start with wins..time for more coffee and get myself together....later

One More Attempt

I've tried to begin my post three times and then it disappears. This will be my last attempt. Went to Knoxville to Whole Foods to check on price reductions advertised by Amazon only to find they haven't gone into effect yet. We did look around and we not a few items. After that we got gas at Sam's and then it was lunch at Rafferty's. Not much happening here today. We will hit the gym after lunch. Later the effects from Harvey are expected to arrive here with heavy rain for a few days. I'm hoping Nick will show up today to cut the grass before the rains come. He usually comes either Tuesday or Wednesday. Lots of prayers going out for Jimmy and Muir!!.... Later

Summer's End

Can't believe August is almost over! This has been the mildest summer and we haven't had the a/c on for over a week. Talked to our fried, Carol last night and so excited that she will be going to the Berkshires with us!!With all of her worldly travelling, she has never been to New England! Today Tabatha will be here around 8 and later we will head to Knoxville and Whole Foods hoping to find some bargains. ....Haven't ranted lately so here goes....Honestly, Trump is such an idiot...he really has no idea how the government works!!!....later

Quiet Weekend

It was quiet and relaxing and watching lots of golf. I went to Fresh Market in Knoxville and pucked up wild Alaskan cod which we had for dinner last night. It was delicious! Just thinking of the people in Texas..so tragic. Apparently, Houston lacks zoning rules so construction continues to the point the city is all cement with no place for water to go..hence floods. Can't believe engineers have allowed this!!....No major plans for today. Richard has an afternoon dentist appointment. I'll be doing a bit of cleaning. Nice weather continues...later

Delicious Weathet

High school football is in the air and this cool weather is more than refreshing!!It won't be long before college football starts and I can't wait!!No plans for the weekend but maybe a drive to the mountains. This afternoon...gym time. We watched a few episodes of old Frasier shows last night on Netflix..forgot how funny it was....later

Frustrating Wednesday!

Okay..phone issues and they come and go..lots of static on our end. Finally called Spectrum but can't come u til next week. Next..can't get on FB so will call about that later and next..trouble with Netflix and I'll also call them hoping to get everything back and running. Finally...let me preface this rant with saying that I am not a patient person and I hate waiting. I waited more than 2 hours for Richard when he was getting his root canal but I expected that. Next..Richard has decided to take his shower at the gym on the days we work out I stead of at home and he takes a LONG time. In the meantime I'm waiting for him. Not really sure why he can't shower at home where I can be useful here!! Okay..moving on..lovely day here. Time for me to make some calls and get some solutions around here!.... Later

Tuesday Recap

Left yesterday morning for Richard's appointment to get his root canal, dropped him off and I headed to the liquor store and then to Sam's. I was back at dentist's where I waited for 2 more hours for him. 800.$$ later we headed home. That amount was just half of total cost but insurance will cover the rest. Last evening we were ready to watch Jeopardy when I got a phone call from Bob and Heather who we haven't seen in years. We went on many a camping adventure with them and their kids and also to Yellowstone with them. As their two kids were growing up they got busy with their activities and their way of life changed. Tess us now in college and Ben is a busy sophomore in high school. Bob and Heather were in Marysville for dinner when they called. They brought dessert over and we spent the next few hours catching up and recapping old times. It was great to see them!! ..I do keep up with them and the kids via Facebook..Today a bit cooler here with even better weather coming in the next few days....later

Not Disappointed

Even though I didn't have glasses I watched on TV and watched the sky change. When it was near totality our outside lights came on, birds were quiet and crickets chirping madly. It was a bit eerie but amazing. The temperature dropped several degrees. It actually brought tears to my eyes and glad I was around to experience it!! Today we'll head to Knoxville for Richard's root canal and I'll run some errands while he's there....later

Eclipse Fever

We will be travelling all the way down our driveway to watch from our road which is the best viewing area. Due to trees all around our property that is where we'll be. We'll take chairs and drinks down. We won't get totality but it will be close. Clingmans Dome in the Smokies will have totality as well as other spots in Tennessee. Tomorrow we will head to Knoxville for Richard's root canal. While he is there I'll go to Sam's to pick up a few things. Happy viewing everyone!!😊 later

Birthday Time

Richard has caught up to me, but I still have a 2 month lead. He's still asleep and I'm not sure what today will bring. I have a meal for him planned but still need to get the main ingredient. ..Eclipse fever is everywhere with Tennessee a great viewing area. So far today no rain here but still possible....later

Couldn't Get On!!

Tried on and off all morning to post but finally just got on. Went to Walmart and Kroger's for a few things then came home for a bit and it was time for lunch but microwave died and then we decided to go out for lunch and then off to buy new microwave. Just when we were ready to leave electricity went off so Richard couldn't ride chair lift and garage door wouldn't go up...not a good day But..finally came on, went to Los Amigos and then bought a new microwave. All is in place and hoping nothing else goes wrong. I guess while I was out this morning it rained hard here but no rain where I was. Very sunny and hot now...later

When Will it Stop?!?

Never as long as Trump is president! I'm so sick of seeing and hearing his mouthful of lies and negativity! Instead of running this country and getting some important legislation accomplished, the congress and country as a whole is focused on Trump and his latest rhetoric. I will go out on a limb and say I am against removing statues of important parts if American history. I don't see a statue of Lee as honoring him, but showing those who fought getting rid of slavery and knowing that they lost the fight. ...moving on...Congratulations to Eric who is now an Eagle Scout!! So happy and proud of him!! He leaves for college on Saturday....later

Very Weird Morning

First I woke up after a strange dream and this morning our bed just didn't feel right. Next I came out to the great room and turned on the TV and the cable must be down so its dead quiet in the house. Not sure what the rest of the day will be like. One of us has to go to the store today and if it's me, I need to shower and get going because I like to go early. I'll go see if Richard is up and then try to put this morning right!!....later

Changes

A few days ago Richard was saying how tough it was for him getting up in the morning. Seems like forever he has slept on the left side of the bed which is furthest from the bathroom and from his desk chair. I said I would be willing to change sides making it easier for him. Last night we made that change and it was weird! I'm sure I'll soon get used to it. ...We've lately been watching Q and A on c-span Sunday evening. Brian Lamb us an excellent interviewer and usually a great show. Last night it was a Georgetown law professor talking about his latest book....Now for today..more rain expected...later

Here and There

I have a few errands to run today and Richard has an wye appointment so we'll both be heading out at some point. First on my list is getting a winning Power Ball ticket!!I'll also be trying to find glasses for viewing the eclipse next week. Apparently, many places have sold out of then. We had rain on and off all day yesterday so Tabatha wasn't able to finish yesterday...I guess all schools in Tennessee are now in session. It seems Luke they start earlier every year!....later

Another Cool Morning!!

Hard to believe but very welcome and atypical of August in Tennessee. I'm enjoying my Michael iced coffee thus morning. Tabatha will be here at eight and I'm hoping the rain will hold off until she is finished. I have all outside work for her today. My morning..changing the bed and this and that. Nothing else going on....later

Danger Zone

Anywhere near Trump!! This man seems to have no connection between words and serious thought! Who knows where this will go but in any case it is very scary. North Korea's leader is crazy and we have our own crazy leader!!...Nothing exciting here..gym after lunch....later

Cool and Rainy

This weather is so unlike August weather and I love it! Our a/c hasn't been on for a week. Richard's dental news is that he has to have a root canal..yikes! Today he has an appointment and while he's there I'll be grocery shopping. That's all I have for today....later

Home

After a great week at PIB, I got home on Saturday. Everything at the Bay was perfect..most if all being with part of my family but the weather also cooperated. ..I can't believe this is August. Its been cool with not much humidity. Not sure what this week will be like. Today Richard has an afternoon dentist appointment and tomorrow a drs. Appointment. I will drop him off from that and do some grocery shopping while he's there. This morning it's rainy with that expected throughout the week....later

On The Road

Muir and I will be heading out later this morning for Cincinnati. I'll stay there tonight and head home tomorrow. It's been a great week with part of my family. We had some storms last evening and it's downright chilly this morning! Eva is still sleeping in my bed so have to wait for her to wake up before I pull the sheets etc.....later

Blogging Issues

For two days in a row I wrote lengthy blogs and before I could publish they got erased. Suffice it to say...I'm having a great time at PIB and will be sad to leave tomorrow😢. The weather has been perfect and yesterday late afternoon an exciting lightning show presented us with entertainment over the harbor! A bit later lots of wind and rain on front of house and nothing on the back. The sky was sunny and clear over the west shore. That's PIB!! ...later

PIB Sunset

Charlie and Muir were trying to get Game of Thrones on TV so I went out to watch the sunset and Maggie came out so, as always that scene never disappoints. Eva slept with me and she's still in the same position she was in when she fell asleep. Normally she is a kicker and mover but not last night!!She had a very active day yesterday. Its a beautiful morning..I may take a ride on the wave runner today.  Just had a disaster in the kitchen. Whoever got the coffee pot ready last night failed to put the pot on the maker so when it came on automatically it went all over the counter and floor😬 Just glad I wasn't responsible....lat
