Hard to Believe...

All I can do is shake my head and wonder when enough is enough enough..so I'll move on...Dropping Richard off this morning for a shot in his eyeball and I'll shop and gas up at Kroger's. When I get home I have lots to do to get ready to leave for PIBon Sunday morning. It was nice to wake up to a cooler morning with more showers predicted. Looks like I'll have a dry drive to Cincy on Sunday. Time for more coffee and my shower..oh I forgot..last Friday I got stung on my arm and on my leg by hornets. I initially put ice on the sting and then honey. The pain went away and left me with red spits. Fast forward to yesterday. Very itchy and redness increasing in area and arm a bit of swelling. I put ice on which raced itching. Thinking this should not be happening a week later. Not sure if I should let it go or what!?!....later

Rain Approaching

It's raining at the airport...oh, here it is! I think it's mostly going to be a shower that won't last too long. The main weather change should come tomorrow. I'm heading out just before 9 to get a haircut. Right now I'm watching Morning Joe and listening to the continual debacle know as the Trump administration! I'm hoping the powers that be will do something about this situation before some disaster hits our country with no sensible person in charge!!Time for more coffee!!....later

Disgusting!!

Yep..Trump speaking to Boy Scouts. I thought when Melonia moved into the White House she might have some influence but he still goes on with no filter and he continues to have a constant need for affirmation! His administration has no influence either on his blathering!...Moving along..I rarely have weird dreams but last night I had a doozie! I went to bed shortly after 10 and went promptly to sleep. I woke up at 11:30 and thought it was time to get up and then saw the time. I went back to sleep and started dreaming. I was in bed with my mother though it wasn't the mother I had. I was a child and she was trying to kill me. I tried to get away but couldn't so started screaming. I woke up screaming at the top of my lungs!!I scared Richard who started patting me and telling me I was safe. I think I scared Whiskers out of a few of her nine lives! When I got up this morning Richard asked me if I was okay. I think the remainder of the night after my dream was peaceful!....later

Profitable Shopping in Knoxville

We started out at liquor store where we resupplied our champagne, vermouth, triple sec and vodka. From there to Trader Joe's. I needed ghee(clarified butter) and everything else was surf we wanted, not needed. They had samples of a very yummy cherry dump case so I got the ingredients to make that, which I'll do today. After that a quick stop at Sam's to pick up a rotesserie chicken. When we got home I cut off the breast meat from that and packaged and froze it to take to PIB to make a Cobb salad. After Sam's a stop at DSW for me to satisfy my shoe love where I picked up 2 cute pairs. Then lunch at Olive Garden and lastly Fresh Market where I got shrimp salad for Richard. Then home to unload it all. Today I'll make some more beet picjeled eggs for Richard and the dump cake. Later I'll head out to puck up a few items. ...Hot again but cool weather ahead....later

Storms and Heat

I'm not sure if we had much rain and other than one major clap of thunder, I didn't hear a thing. That's normal..I sleep through everything. It is hot and today Alcoa schools open with others in this county following within this week. We had planned to go to Knoxville tomorrow but Spectrum is coming tomorrow to update some wiring so today we'll head to Knoxville. They were here yesterday for several hours getting our system updated. ..I made zucchini tool ups for dinner last night and they were delicious. They are typically meatless but I knew Richard wouldn't be happy about that so I added ground beef. Italian sausage would have been better but I didn't have any. About time for me to head to the shower...later

Another Scorcher

I'll go out early to feed and water my plants and Tabatha, my new helper, will be here to do some yard work. ...On other news..Max visited Wittenberg College and loved it. He'll continue to visit a few more schools but is convinced that Wittenberg is for him. Anne is also impressed and thinks it is a good fit for Max. I was reading about the school and it sounds quite similar to Bethany where I went. Richard and I will head to the gym earlier than usual today so we can finish our pool work before the kid's camp shows up. The coming week will be the last for that as school starts down here at the end of next week! So glad I retired before that early start was initiated. I'm looking forward to time at PIB at he start of August!...later

My Day

I'll be heading to Walmart in a bit with a few other stops. I need to go to library and pick up Richard's prescriptions. It will be very hot so I'm hoping to get home before it heats up too much. ...So sorry to hear about John McCain😢! He's one of the good ones and we need more like him...a man of honor who thinks first if country over party!! In the meantime Trump is lacking honor and so much more..a sorry excuse for the president. I'm not sure how much more this country can take!! Coffee time...later

Movies, Books, etc.

Richard was originally scheduled to go to The Sleep Center in August, but they called yesterday with a cancellation for last night so he wasn't here and I decided to watch a movie and chose The Zookeeper's Wife. Very early into it I realized I couldn't watch it so quickly got out of it! Instead I'll read the book. So instead of a movie I. Watched some TV and went to bed about 10:30. ...Richard just got home.. Earlier than I expected. I guess Whiskers missed Richard because she was persistent with her meowing this morning and I finally got up at 5:30. Hot here already!....later

Busy Morning

Carpet Cleaners coming at 8 this morning so I need to get busy and start moving things. I'll be so glad to get this done!!....Happy the health bill is dead. Maybe Republicans will get together with Democrats and work on a sensible bill!! I loved Senator McCain's remark.."Another shoe has dropped from the centepede!"...Prayers for a quick recovery for McCain! Time to start moving stuff!!....later

A New Week

It starts out cool but will heat up and actually hit the 100 mark this week...yuck! Richard gets a shot this morning in his other hip, so after dropping him off I'll head to the store to pick up a few things. Tomorrow morning Stanley Steamer will be here to clean m my carpets!!So far the rest of the week is free of appointments! I guess I'll hunker down and keep cool...later

Morning News

Was presented with a dead mouse by my bathroom door. I guess Whiskers was busy during the night! This morning Richard has an appointment with his cardiologist so I'll drop him off and make sops to Kroger and Karma while he's there. Just saw a news story about flooding and rain yesterday in Columbus. I was talking to Maggie yesterday and she said it was raining. I guess it was more than that. Oh y es! I got an Echo Dot yesterday so we had fun with that. Richard kept Alexa busy for awile! Time for me to get myself together....later

Unreal Political Atmosphere!

Every day we are learning about another shoe dropping in a the Trump Whitehouse. In the meantime nothing is getting done!! How much longer can this go on?!? When is Congress and the powers that be realize enough is enough?...Both of us had a good night's sleep and my alarm clock failed as well. I first opened my eyes at 6:05! Not Hong on our agenda today. We watched part of the Espys last night. Peyton was great!....later

The Heat is on!

Ninety-one yesterday and the same today with plenty of humidity to go with the heat. Cool here at this 5:00 hour. I've been up since 4:05! Woke up at 3 with Richard sitting at the computer. I tried to get back to sleep but finally gave up. After two good nights for Richard, I was beginning to think he was back on a decent night's sleep but was wrong!😣 So over this!! Yesterday I got the house cleaned while Richard was grocery shopping.....later

Monday...

It started out poorly but ended very well😊! I hadn't slept well and was also concerned about Richard's appointment in Knoxville. Richard had slept well and then the appointment went well. Eleven years ago he had a lap band inserted. It never had worked that well and often caused problems with certain foods. He had decided he wanted it removed but I was concerned about the process, not wanting him to go through another surgery. As it turned out, the port could stay in with no problem at all but the saline within it could be taken out with a needle into the chest and removing that solution. It was done quickly and all is well and we both left happy!...Hot today and Richard going to Walmart soon to grocery shop. I'll clean house while he is gone.....later

Sleep Patterns

Richard's sleep patterns have us both on edge and last night he was restless and therefore I was as well. I was also thinking the a/c wasn't set to a comfortable temperature and I was too warm. It is nice here this morning with low humidity but going to be about 90 this afternoon. I'm thinking it's about time for a drive up into the mountains. We haven't done that side the fires of last fall!....later

Goodbye PIB

I think my gang will be leaving PIB today to get back to the real world. I'm just happy they have that happy place to go to and get recharged!!😊..our rainy week continues but a nice few days will be here soon. Nothing much going on here...later

Rain, Heat, Humidity!

Welcome to summer in Tennessee. On and off showers and a forecast of 90s today but by Sunday relief coming for a few days. I'll head to Kroger's today to return the bottle of wine that was impossible to open and Karma to drop off items I no longer have use for. Other than that just daily stuff around here....later

Time for Sam's

I need lots of things I get from Sam's Sam's so today's the day. Yesterday was quiet until later. One of ore neighbors had quite a display of fireworks but all was quiet when I went to bed. I bought an expensive bottle of wine for last night's dinner and it was such a bargain I couldn't pass it up!! It was impossible to open and we finally gave up. Now I know why it was such a bargain. The neck of the bottle had a very tough metal instead of the usual foil. I tried a knife, scissors and finally pliers to get it off with no success. It also didn't have a cork but a white material we couldn't get a wine opener into. I'll be anxious to see what they say when I return it!!....later

My Automatic Alarm

It's pretty amazing! I never have to worry about setting it. It is very reliable. It first goes off at 5 and if I don't respond it goes off again at 5:30. The alarm isn't too loud but just right. It's a very gentle "Meow, meow. meow.!! The sweetest alarm I've ever had!!....

Another Appointment

It seems the main events in our lives centers around doctors appointments. Today and the next two Mondays that will be the case. Today Richard will get a cortisone shot in his hip. I'll drop him off and then knock off a few chores while he's there before picking him up. Yesterday was supposed to be rainy but we got none. Hard to say what will happen today but the same is predicted. Hoping the kids have a fun time at PIB!!....
