Frustration😬😬

Once again my blog disappeared 3/4 of the way finished. I'll pick up where I left off even though you don't know what preceded this. I was eating my lunch and turned on the tv to watch John McCain on his way to the church in Phoenix. It turned into a very moving but sad day and put me in a sad mood for most of the rest of the day. Hearing how he lived his life and how he lived his country I realized what a great loss losing him was! The rest of the weekend will likely be similar with more ceremonies. I'll hope some good football games will be a fun distraction from the sadness.....UT  plays WVa! We have a new coach and I can only hope the Vols will play well and won't be embarrassed!.....later

Thunder Storms

On and off storms expected today. Just earlier we had a short rain. I really can't complain about this summer's weather as it's been unusual. We've had the a/c on for a bit in the late afternoon for the past 2 days but not needing it later or during the night. I'll be heading to the library later. I've been on a roll lately reading books from the library instead of on my Kindle. ....Hard to believe Labor Day nearly here!!....Talked to Anne yestetday..she and Steve headed to PIB in a few days taking no one but Maizy.....Later

Summer Weather

With the summer weather I was trying to come up with a nice salad for dinner. I decided to make a drink and pasta salad. I had to go to Kroger s for a few things and get gas as well. My salad was penne, shrimp,celery, scallions, hard boiled eggs, grated carrots, and avocada. I made a mayonnaise with lime juice dressing. It was a big hit!! The rest of the day I did some cleaning up around here and read my book. I think I'll need to go to the library tomorrow and pick up some more reading material!....later

Summer Heat is Back😬

I actually turned the a/c on when I was getting dinner but turned it off and opened the door after dinner...Its also been hazy for several days....I have some errands to run and will head out this morning to avoid the heat and I need to jump in the shower soon....later

Sadness

I woke up yesterday to hear that John MCCain had passed away. He was a great man and believed that reaching across the aisle was crucial to get things done. He will be missed and I can only hope that his influence will make a difference!......Now into the homegrown and frustration....So..let me preface this by saying that Richard loves to walk around in his bare feet and this practice has caused me major frustration! A few years ago he put a bunch of papers in our outdoor fire pit. He walked out on the deck to check on the progress and stepped on some members causing 2nd degree burn in his bare foot! Another time he stepped on something cutting his foot and bleeding in our bedroom carpet. Of course I had to clean it up. Saturday night he went down to the den to empty the dehumidifier and I got ready for bed and turned in. I was awakened by my idiot husband telling for me to come help him. He was bleeding profusely from his foot. I sprung into action and got the bleeding stopped and the foot heavily bandaged! I changed the dressing yesterday and saw the hash in his foot.  Ofcourse there was blood all over the carpet and I was left to clean it up!😬😠 My last words were to tell him he was never to walk outside or downstairs in his barefeet!! Men!!......later

Wonderfully Chilly

I came out to the great room and had to put the throw on but still chilly so turned one of the ceiling fans off. The door is opened but I don't want to close it. I have been drinking iced coffee all summer but thought about making coffee but decided against it. ...After the dehumidifier malfunctioned we ordered a new one and it came yesterday. Richard got it all set up and it won't turn on which means we'll have to repack it and send it back. What a huge pain!! My sciatica was much better yesterday and I'm hoping for the same today. I haven't had much of a chance to walk around and test it yet. .......later

Fall Weather😊

It's downright chilly this morning and I love it! It's been really hazy for the past several days but I'm looking forward to seeing the mountains from our deck today. No news on the sciatica. Yesterday morning was rough but periods when it wasn't so bad. This morning was better than yesterday but too soon to say anything further...I finished In Farleigh Field yesterday and will start another book today. I'm loving Rhy s Bowen, an author I had previously not read....Happy hump day!....later

Fighting Siatica

So pain yesterday morning which subsided allowing me to get things done but came back later in the day.. It doesn't bother me when sitting or lying down but the pain is intense while walking. I've been doing exercises and this morning took some suggested medication. Now just biding my time to see how today goes. Richard has this as well but his goes away after morning stretches. Keeping my fingers crossed!!...Cool morning with a nice day ahead of us and even nicer as the week progresses!....Later

Nicole Wallace

If anyone wants to know where I am at 4 pm on a weekday you can find me in front of the tv watching Nicole Wallace. Yesterday she was showing the myriad of tweets Trump had sent over the weekend and she called Trump "President Prickly Pants". I first saw her when she was on The View and I liked her comments there and though she was a Republican, she was moderate and made sence. She was fired from the View for not being controversial enough. That and headlight humor attracted me. ...Moving on...all of a sudden I got up yesterday with lots of leg pain and I guess it's siatica...damn! Richard has it and it seems I have it also! .....Watched Secrets of the Zoo last night and sorry to learn that next Sunday will be the last episode. It had been a great look into the Columbus Zoo! It has been an excellent program showing the great work done by zoos in preserving our wonderful animals and research in preserving many species!.....later

Birthday Weekend for Richard

We celebrated at Bonefish and had a delicious dinner and shared the evening with friends, Jim and Tommie. We rarely go out on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was really busy! ....It's a cool, rainy morning here and fall like weather expected this week! I love it!! I went to the library Saturday and I was a bit shocked when she said my books had a September due date...Where did summer go?!?...Normal Monday here...laundry and gym after lunch......later

Birthday Weekend

Richard's big day tomorrow and he'll catch up to me. We'll go to Knoxville and dinner at Bonefish. We have no other plans although we need to get to the mountains soon. We had planned on a picnic there on my birthday but the skies opened up that day and we still haven't gotten there! ....Rain and storms expected today and hoping it waits until we get back from the gym...Max moved on to his form at Wittenberg yesterday. I liked Madison's advive, "Play hard, study harder." Hard to believe he's in college. .seems like yesterday he was playing army with my glass ladybugs while down here in the summer..happy memories!!.....later

Change of Heart

I have been so upset with the idiot in the White House and was going to vent but decided against it. Instead I'll comment on our unbelievable summer weather. It is supposed to hit 90 today so I'll likely be forced to turn on the a/c! We are supposed to get a lot of rain in the next several days. The dehumidifier in our downstairs den isn't automatically shutting off so we'll head to Lowe's to get a new one today. I may or may not go with Richard to do this because he mentioned stopping in Walmar  and I hate going there with him!! Every time I go there with him I now to NEVER do it again!!  We'll see.......later

Amazing Summer

Can't believe this summer....very different and its been over 3 weeks since we've needed our a/c! ...Today I'll drive Richard to his retinologist appointment and then check to see if Home Goods has opened yet. Then I'll park under a tree and read while I wait for him. I never go inside to wait for him as it's so depressing! After the appointment we'll head to the gym. What an exciting life we live!...Max heads to college tomorrow...exciting time for him!......later

Early Morning

I left at 7 this morning to gas up Richard's car. I prayed all the way to Kroger s that I would make it. I don't know why he got it so low! I do know it's a man thing. I never ever get that low!! After that I went to Wal-Mart and then Walgreens. I'm free the rest of the day but Richard has a dentist appointment at 11.   Loved the picture of Eva all smiley and ready for her first day of second grade😁😁!......later

Also getting Carolina's new apartment ready for her senior year at VaTech.  Saturday evening we are at Macado's and Richard got balloons and song! Afterward everyone congregated in our room.  Tim took us on a driving your of the campus and town. It had been several years since we had been there and we were impressed!! It's a beautiful campus!! The town is so much bigger than I remember and also beautiful with hanging baskets of flowers on all of the lampposts. Now its back to our Monday routine......Later

Charger Issues

Yesterday my tablet was showing low battery and wasn't charging. Fortunately, I have another charger and it finally reached full charge. ....Plans today are to head to Blacksburg about 11. Since we'll only be there for 2 nights not much to pack. I'll shower and get things together in a bit.....Stopped at Target yesterday and had enough time to browse and  see how much it had changed. It is so much bigger now and really nice. The new Home Goods hasn't opened yet..can't wait..later

Busy Thursday

We'll be leaving tomorrow for a weekend in Blacksburg with Joel and Tim and families. It's been a long time since we've been there even though we go near there every time we head north on 81. ...Later today I'll get a haircut and a carwash and Tabitha will come over to get the key to the house as they will take care of Whiskers....Had a storm last evening which cooled everything and once again we didn't need the a/c. This has been an unusual summer and I love it!!....I am enjoying drinking iced coffee which is my preferred morning drink in the sumner. Time now for a refill and then shower time......later

One More Try....

I was more than halfway through my blog when it disappeared. I'll try once more. I didn't have much to say but was saying how this summer was flying away and football season would be upon us soon. The Gold have a new coach and he has a huge job but hoping he is successful with building a decent team!!.....We're expecting storms this afternoon but sunny and calm this morning......Happy Y no Fat!.....later

Quiet Morning

We had a nice rain shower right before bedtime last night. It made for another nice sleeping night. ....Here's something that Richard and I find weird while we're in the pool at the gym! Why would anyone go into the sauna fully clothed?? ...ooh! Just saw something about Rachel Ray's dog food that may have something harmful in it!! I'm not a fan of Rachel Ray but hope this isn't true....No real plans for today but will see what comes up...later

Summer Returns

After lovely weather for a few weeks the heat and humidity teturn. Yesterday I turned on the a/c for awhile in the afternoon but didn't need it during the night.....Schools in Tennessee have mostly started it will this week......Not much going on this week until Friday when we'll drive to Blacksburg to spend the weekend with Joel and Tim and their family for an early celebration of Richard's birthday. It had to be this weekend because both boys have kids going back to college the weekend of Richard's birthday. It should be a fun weekend in Blacksburg!....Next week Max goes off to college for his freshman year! Seems like yesterday he was starting kindergarten!!......Later

primary Results

This campaign was driving me crazy and it has turned negative and the negativity defeated several candidates. We voted straight Democrat and our candidates all won. They'll have a tough road ahead because Tennessee is so conservative. Bredeson is running for Corker's seat along with Marcia Blackburn who is currently a representative. Go Democrats!!! ....After several days of rain it looks like sunny days are ahead......It doesn't look good for OSU's coach! That's too bad!! Happy weekend😊......later

Today's Plans

It's election day in Tennessee so we'll be voting and after that Richard will go to the DMV to renew his driver's license and then to Wal-Mart. ...Yesterday was a total washout. I don't think the rain ever stopped. The high yesterday was 71!!  Weird! Right now it's not raining but showers are predicted. I'm watching Morning Joe and seeing the mess Trump's tweets are causing. I can only hope this latest is enough to finally cook his goose. He obviously is falling apart but by but but who knows?!?!....shower time....later

Weather

Not much to talk about in my life except this unusual summer weather. Today we'll remain in the 70s with lots of rain. Tomorrow is voting day and I look forward to the weeding out of candidates. Lately I have been watching cable in order to get away from the countless political ads. Time for me to put on my thinking cap and figure out what to have for dinner!.....later
